What to wear for glassblowing or lampworking

For your safety, only all-cotton clothes and shoes that completely cover your feet are allowed while working with hot glass (for ex. a cotton t-shirt, jeans and sneakers).

Short-sleeve shirts are usually more comfortable than long-sleeve shirts.

When do I pay?

For our mini-events, payment is required when you make your reservation.

For group events, private classes, lampworking classes, the 6 week glassblowing classes and kids camp - a 50% deposit is due when your reservation is made. The balance is due when you arrive for your event/class. All deposits are non-refundable.

Classes and events: If you feel unwell, are at higher-risk for severe illness, or are just not comfortable going out in public right now, please do not come to class. Reach out to us and we will reschedule you to a later class or issue a gift certificate that you can use for a later class or a purchase.

If you book a deluxe party for adults, you are welcome to enjoy alcoholic beverages and snacks you provide AFTER you have had your turn at glassblowing.  We'll all have more fun if we stay safe! Alcoholic beverages at your party requires a Washington state banquet permit which you can purchase here.

Art by Fire is a kid-friendly place and therefore is a drug and paraphernalia free facility. We're sorry but we won't teach you to make paraphernalia even if it is legal.

When do I get the glass I made?

Your glass is ready to take home 2 business days after you make it. Thursday items are ready to pick up on the following Saturday. Items made on Saturdays are ready the following Wednesday. Items made on Sundays are ready the following Thursday. (Art by Fire is closed Mondays and Tuesdays to reload our furnace).
