This is a beautiful creation of our glass blowing studio: yarn bowls. We are not only glass-blowers, but knitters as well. So we have used our knowledge of both crafts to make a knitting bowl that is not only useful, but absolutely stunning as well. The bowl is specially designed to keep that ball of yarn working for you as you knit, and not against you. It will hold your knit craft when you are ready to take a break, and not come back to a tangled mess. The clever design will keep the ball unraveling as you knit and not create extra work. And finally, it is just a stunning piece of glass. We put all our years of knowledge in working with glass into a bowl that you will enjoy having forever. This piece is solid and will last.

Glassblowing is an ancient art-form - first traced to the Syrians in 1st Century B.C. In the Middle Ages, Venice became the center for glassblowing in Europe. So too, paper-making, and the assembly into books are ancient art-forms. In times past, and with some modern artisans, the first and last pages in a book might be run in a tank with many colors, producing a marbled affect - much like the outside of this bowl. So we have dedicated this bowl to the ancient craft of making marbled paper. This bowl measures 5.25" H x 10" W x 8" D with Width from lip to rim.

Dress your home for any occasion with our beautiful art. This yarn bowl was made at our glassblowing studio, Art by Fire, in historic Issaquah, Washington. Our art is lovingly made by our small team of glassblowers using hand-tools and techniques passed on for centuries in the glassblowing tradition. Glassblowing classes taught here in our studio for nearly all ages.
