why take a class at artbyfire?

Our instructors are experts that are chosen for their skill, patience and love of teaching. Together, they have over 84 years of glassblowing experience. All of our classes are kept small so individualized instruction is optimized.

 If your desire is to become a professional glass artist, come see what we have to offer. Many of our students have gone on to found studios in other states or have become professional glass artists.

glassblowing

We teach everything from basic glassblowing to Venetian goblet techniques and sculpture.

It's important to us that our students not only learn the necessary skills to become proficient glass artists but it must also be a fun and gratifying experience. We have been teaching glassblowing classes for over 9 years.

Due to scheduling we require 14 days cancelation notice.  At artbyfire we always try to accomodate schedules but Make-up classes are not guaranteed. If scheduling permits we will always try, in good faith, to accomodate you.

beadmaking

Within the first hour you will be making your own beads. By the end of the second day you will have created sculpted and colorful beads utilizing century-old teaching methods.

In addition to taking home a variety of beautiful beads, you will also have the knowledge to set up your own bead studio.

private classes

artbyfire also offers 2-4 hour long private classes with one of our instructors for people who want to try glassblowing but their schedule won't allow for the 4 week class. During these private classes, you will produce 3-6 colored pieces to take home and show your friends and family.
